Whether you can give an afternoon a fortnight, make a donation, or open a door through your organisation — there is a meaningful role for you in what we do.
Juno is a community organisation in the truest sense: everything we do depends on the generosity, skill, and commitment of people in and around Fraserburgh who believe that long-term condition management should be local, human, and free.
Whether you can give an afternoon a fortnight as a peer support volunteer, make a one-off donation, or connect us with your organisation as a local employer or community partner, there is a meaningful role for you in what we do. We are a small charity and every contribution makes a direct, traceable difference to a real person in this community.
Our volunteer peer supporters are among the most important people in the Juno network. Many of them first came to us as participants looking for support. They bring something no amount of training can fully replicate: the lived experience of managing a long-term condition in Fraserburgh, with all the specific challenges that entails.
We train and support local people — including those with lived experience of long-term conditions — to become Juno peer support workers and telephone befrienders. Volunteering with Juno typically requires a commitment of four to six hours per month, and full accredited training is provided at no cost to you.
A donation of any size helps us keep our service entirely free for Fraserburgh and Buchan residents. Fifteen pounds funds one self-management surgery session; fifty pounds covers a month of health coaching calls for one participant; a regular standing order of any amount helps us plan with confidence and reduces the time our team must spend on grant applications rather than direct support.
We actively seek partnerships with Fraserburgh GP practices, local employers, community organisations, and other third sector bodies across Aberdeenshire. If you work in health, housing, social care, or community development and think our populations overlap, we would welcome a conversation about how we might work together effectively.
They bring something no amount of training can replicate: the lived experience of managing a long-term condition in Fraserburgh, and the knowledge of what genuine support feels like.
Talk to us todayJuno is funded through a combination of grants from the Scottish Government's Third Sector Health Fund, the Robertson Trust, and generous individual donations from the local community. We are grateful to every funder, donor, and supporter who makes our work possible.
